Skills Framework
Building Blocks of Project Management Skills
The Little PM Program is an engaging and interactive program designed to inspire children by teaching them essential project management skills in a fun and creative way.

Through hands-on activities like Lego-based challenges and collaborative problem-solving tasks, children not only learn how to plan and execute projects but also develop key skills listed above.
  • Children learn by creating something together. They each have an individual role which contributes to the overall product. Each member of the team uses their skills and strengths to support the goals of the team.
  • The team leader is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project. They make sure that each member has a specific, achievable role and supports them to keep to time. Each member is responsible for completing their designated tasks.
  • The team uses the supporting documents to organise who will do which tasks. They should decide if some tasks can be completed simultaneously to maximise efficiency. They create systems to keep track of completed tasks.
  • Team members should all contribute ideas for how to achieve the project goal within the given constraints. Teams should respond effectively to unforeseen problems during the task.
  • Teams should communicate using clear and polite language and ensure that everyone’s contributions are heard. Instructions and decisions should be clear. Written aspects of the task should use fluent, cohesive and technically appropriate language.
  • Teams should try to complete the given project in ways that show personality, individuality and artistic talent. They should be praised for thinking outside the box and using unexpected solutions.
  • Teams should ensure that they consider the different perspectives, contexts and backgrounds of all members of their team and others in the session. Inclusivity and tolerance should be present in their discussions and attitudes.
  • All team members must engage in looking back on what they have achieved with reference to the project goal. They should acknowledge the contributions of others and themselves. They should consider how they can apply what they have learned.
  • When appropriate, teams should use technology, including AI, effectively and meaningfully to support their work, rather than to replace it. They should show critical awareness of the benefits and limitations of technolgy.
  • Teams members should support each other when they encounter problems and work together, rather than against each other to find solutions. Teams should be able to change their plans depending on circumstances of the project.
